Bathroom Décor–Vinyl on Canvas

Materials:

  • 12x12 white canvas (purchased at Michael’s)
  • Vinyl (purchased from Expressions Vinyl)
    • Beige
    • Aqua
  • Faber-Castell Gelatos – Snow Cone
  • Vinyl Transfer Tape

I started by running the gelato across all 4 sides of the canvas. With a damp sponge, I pulled the color away from the edges of the canvas.

After cutting the two parts of the art on the Silhouette Cameo, the pieces were aligned.

Using transfer tape, the vinyl was adhered to the canvas. I am quite happy with the results! Here it is hanging on the outside of my boys’ bathroom door.

A New Etsy Shop - Digital Designs by MRS

One thing I enjoy in addition to photography and creating hand stamped jewelry is graphic design. Though I no longer do this professionally, I still enjoy creating things for personal use.

While creating this file to get myself organized for the upcoming school year, I thought of how fun it would be to make these available to customers as well. I can't be the only one looking for "pretty" school planners. :)

Thus, Digital Designs by MRS was born! This shop will offer digital files for instant downloads.

This Homeschool Weekly Planner is currently available:

Last year, I purchased a Silhouette Cameo machine. I am hooked on that machine and all its capabilities. I have been playing with creating cut files so I decided to offer those in the shop as well!

Right now, I have 2 Silhouette Studio cut files available in the shop:

Awareness Ribbon - Silhouette Studio File and JPG

Chicken Silhouette - Silhouette Studio File and JPG

Here is an example of what I had created with the chicken silhouette file:

Stay tuned for more available files (and possibly other products) in the future!

“Farm Fresh Eggs” Vinyl Window Decor

First, I will apologize for the low quality photos. I used my cell phone (at night) to take the photos.
After a year of owning a Silhouette Cameo, I am finally venturing beyond cards and scrapbooking.

My current addiction is vinyl. I had learned about Expressions Vinyl from a friend and have been stocking up on colors for a couple of months now! My home will be vinyled out in the next couple of months. ;)

I am blown away at how versatile vinyl is for projects. One of my favorite projects so far is this one.

I had purchased an old wooden window from my favorite local shop, Patina Home and Garden, a few months ago. I had purchased it with the intent to use it as a photo frame over our couch. Instead, I decided to create something for my dining area.

I started by cutting the vinyl pieces out with my Silhouette (the chicken file is available for purchase through my Etsy shop, Digital Designs by MRS.

The hardest part for me with any project is alignment. It took a few rulers and a measuring tape to get this project close to being aligned. :)

I love the way the final project turned out!

Brighten Up Back to School with AstroBrights! | Sponsored Post

This post brought to you by Astrobrights Papers by Neenah Paper. All opinions are 100% mine.

When I was in high school one of my "must have" items was AstroBrights papers. I enjoyed the bright colors that made my report covers stand out!

Not only did I use them for report covers, but I also punched holes in them and used them for note-taking (instead of that boring college ruled lined paper!). They were also essential for poster making for Student Council, Drill Team and DECA!

Funny thing is after all these years (20+ years), I still seem to keep a stash of AstroBrights in my arsenal of scrapbooking paper. There is just something about those bright colors that I can steer away from!!! I have evolved, though, in my use of them. ;) I now use them for scrapbook pages, invitation and card making and various other projects. They ocassionally still get used for school projects - only now the projects are my boys', not mine. :)

I love that they have also added to their selection of colors! They now have 23 BRIGHT colors available in a variety of products - envelopes, filler paper (where was this when I was in school???), posterboard, note cubes, easel pads and cardstock (my favorite!).

With most schools starting within a month or so, AstroBrights provides a great option for teachers when creating their "Welcome Back" announcements for parents. PTAs can also use the papers to brightly invite parents to join the PTA! :) The bright colors will be hard to miss when going through the sea of papers that our kids bring home within the first couple of days of school.

Parents can also use AstroBrights to create chore charts that stand out and can't be missed! :) Or
